What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Representative position at Hendrickson?
Position Purpose:
Responsible for the administration, implementation, and delivery of the Plant Safety program in compliance with Hendrickson EHS & OSHA policies, programs, and requirements.
Essential Functions:
· Provide environmental, health and safety direction and assistance to assure the safety and health of Hendrickson associates through Vision Zero
· Administration of site EHS Procedures
· Facilitate incident reporting, investigation, and follow-up with on-time completion of action items.
· Utilize the Velocity EHS System to track safety incidents, hazards, corrective actions, functions, and employee participation.
· Manage Industrial Hygiene issues and perform IH testing in collaboration with Corporate EHS.
· Assign and ensure completion of monthly, as well as annual, internal/external safety audits and follow-up.
· Conduct both (JSA’S) Job Safety Analysis and (WRA’) Work Risk Analysis of work processes and operations.
· Engage with and provide safety consultation to current and new products engineering during the management of change process.
· Champion/manage/administer the Environmental Management System and ISO 14001-2015 Certification
· Maintenance of Chemical Inventory and new chemical requests in compliance with OSHA Hazardous Materials requirements.
· Lead employee safety and ergonomics team in the pursuit of vision zero.
· Schedule and manage annual employee audiometric testing.
· Assign or facilitate all required OSHA & EHS safety training.
· Prepare safety communications for education and awareness.
· Develop and grow safety culture.
Education and Training
- Associate's Degree required in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Industrial Engineering or related field
- 3-5 years’ experience with an emphasis on health and safety implementation in a manufacturing environment. Some environmental compliance experience is desired.
· CPR & First Aid Certification or the ability to be certified.
Minimum Qualifications
· Demonstrated experience in upgrading health and safety programs and process improvement.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills that include both one on one communication and group communication.
· Ability to lead and deliver trainings in group settings of 5-50 people at a time.
· Strong organizational skills.
· Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
· Ability to work in fast-paced manufacturing environment.
· Experience leading and participating on cross functional team collaborations.
· Self-Starter with good time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision to meet required deadlines.
