Assistant Professor of SociologyHendrix College invites applications for a one-year visiting position for an Assistant Professor of Sociology to begin in August 2025. The College seeks to extend its tradition of excellence in teaching and scholarship by attracting faculty who combine mastery of their disciplines with broad intellectual interests and commitment to the aims of a liberal arts college. We are seeking a sociologist specializing in topics related to gender and sexuality. Primary teaching responsibilities will include Introduction to Sociology and courses in the candidate's area of expertise. The teaching load is three courses per semester. Doctorate is preferred; ABD will be considered.Applications should include a cover letter addressing the candidate's interest in teaching in a liberal arts environment, a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching interests, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and graduate and undergraduate transcripts.
