Duties
- Monitor and inspect construction activities on-site to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and IDOT standards.
- Document daily construction activities, including work progress, materials used, and any deviations from plans.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to address any issues or discrepancies.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations on the construction site.
- Conduct quality control tests and inspections to verify the quality of materials and workmanship.
- Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records of construction activities.
- Assist in resolving construction-related issues and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Observer, preferably with experience working on IDOT projects.
- Strong knowledge of IDOT standards, specifications, and construction practices.
- Excellent observational and documentation skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and safety.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various project sites.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week

- Construction estimating: 2 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
