Position Overview
We are looking for an eager, confident, and self-motivated Application Engineer to join our client’s team! This full-time role combines technical expertise with world-class customer service, as you will work with internal staff, suppliers, contractors, and customers to ensure products and configuration submittals meet mechanical, electrical, and customer application requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Create building automation and security system drawings and produce submittals per contract documents using AutoCAD or similar software.
- Select product types, sizes, and locations in accordance with contract documents and customer applications.
- Order products and assist with project start-up, checkout, turnover, and customer training.
- Maintain documentation throughout the project, compile redlines, and produce final project operating and maintenance documents.
- Support other service offerings and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and strong PC skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend electrical, mechanical, and piping schematics.
- Attention to detail with effective communication and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong interpersonal and team skills.
- A basic understanding of automation systems and electrical concepts in HVAC/R applications (preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to lead, participate in decision-making, and make effective presentations.
- Desire to continue learning and cross-train in graphics and/or programming.
Experience / Education
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Drafting, or a closely related discipline (preferred).
- Basic understanding of automation system communication protocols (preferred).
- Field experience in HVAC/R or industrial control applications, including air handlers, chillers, boilers, variable frequency drives, heat pumps, unit ventilators, fan coils, variable air volume boxes, control valves, etc. (preferred).
