Position Overview: The Product Development Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of furniture production. This position involves quality inspections, coordinating with production partners, maintaining product specifications, and driving product development initiatives. The role is based in NYC, with in-office work Monday through Thursday and remote work on Fridays, including travel across the US approximately once a month.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct weekly visits to production partners to review products ready for shipment.
- Perform quality audits and inspections.
- Document and maintain product specifications.
- Implement production changes and adjustments.
- Support the product development team with sample measurements.
- Address urgent quality issues as needed.
- Manage and coordinate the activities of the NC hire and the HQ associate.
- Drive product development initiatives and ensure adherence to quality standards.
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of experience in upholstery and casegoods, quality assurance, and product development.
- Experience in furniture manufacturing.
- Strong attention to detail and project management skills.
- Proficient in problem-solving with a proactive approach.
- Valid driver's license.
- Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Industrial Design) within the last 10-15 years.
