Overview
Our client, a company known for its fun custom iceless coolers, is looking for a Wholesale Sales Manager to lead and grow their independent wholesale channel. Since their appearance on Shark Tank in 2019, they’ve built a strong brand presence and are now ready to expand their unique product offerings to boutiques, surf shops, gift shops, outfitters, and more across the U.S. This role provides an exciting opportunity to drive sales and manage a team of independent reps while scaling a growing division.
Target Compensation
- Base Salary: $50K – $60K
- Target Commission: 2-2.5% on wholesale revenue (approx. $24K–$30K )
- Bonus Opportunity: 5-10% of base salary
- Total Compensation: $74K to $100K (performance-dependent)
Channel Overview
The independent wholesale channel serves boutiques, surf shops, gift shops, outfitters, and similar U.S.-based accounts. In 2024, this channel generated over $1M in revenue, with a 2025 goal of $1.2M — a target they believe can be exceeded with the right leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Rep Management:
- Lead and manage a team of independent multi-line territory reps
- Recruit, onboard, and manage reps in states where representation is lacking
Account Management:
- Manage “house accounts” (those not handled by multi-line reps)
- Attend 6-8 wholesale trade shows annually (Surf, Dallas Gift, ATL Gift)
Event Support:
- Collaborate with the Events Manager to support trade show activities
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 1–2 years of experience in sales leadership (consumer products space preferred)
- Proven success working with independent reps/distributors
- Familiarity with wholesale accounts like boutiques, surf shops, or similar (a plus)
- Energetic, likeable, and respected leader with a sales-driven mindset
- Strong communication, organizational, and goal-oriented skills
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience managing territories and distributors in wholesale models
- Background in the craft beer or beverage space is a plus
