Shift Lead and Area Supervisor
NOTE: LEVEL 1 IS AN ENTRY LEVEL CHEMICAL OPERATOR POSITION. THE EMPLOYEE WILL BE GOING THROUGH THE ONBOARDING PROCESS. THIS INCLUDES AN ONBOARDING HANDBOOK WHICH DETAILS
THE SPECIFIC TRAINING AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS. THE EMPLOYEE WILL ALSO HAVE AN ASSIGNED SHADOW BUDDY(S) TO PROVIDE TRAINING, GUIDANCE AND ENSURE SAFETY OF THE EMPLOYEE.
NOTE: FOR ALL TASKS BELOW, EMPLOYEE MUST BE ACCOMPANIED WITH A TRAINED AND CERTIFIED OPERATOR UNTIL THE EMPLOYEE IS FULLY TRAINED AND CERTIFIED TO PERFORM THE TASK ON THEIR OWN.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure compliance with all facility SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) policies and procedures. Ensure conformance and support with facility quality management system.
- Follows established formulas for mixing products on all machines in the department using process orders and manufacturing instruction. Assist with the development of and maintenance of manufacturing instructions and standard operating procedures. Pumps, and/or lifts and dumps containers/bags of materials into hoppers and tanks to create batches of material.
- Follow test procedures to validate that product performance is within set specification range and enter information into the operating system. Also trained to operate various testing equipment.
- Operates high lift truck and hoist to transport material.
- Inspects mixing/blend tanks/reactors and associate equipment after each completed batch, and clean mixing tanks and associated equipment as required. May be requested to perform operator preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Fills containers with completed mixes, palletizes, transports to stage area, and will handle hazardous and non-hazardous waste in accordance with procedures.
- Extracts samples and performs all required testing, per support documentation, and enters test results in the operating system. Performs calculations needed to make proper adjustments in accordance to procedures.
- Enters information required on manufacturing instructions or run sheet and completes necessary paperwork for documentation. Maintains accurate inventories, performs production reporting, inventory transfers, tally card process, and picks components when batch is complete utilizing the operating system. Reports abnormal conditions of batches and machines to Supervisor.
- Must be trained in grounding and bonding procedures to control static electricity.
