YOUR ROLE
- Trained to operate specific filling and packaging equipment without oversight and as required to accomplish production objectives.
- Makes adjustments to packaging equipment as required to ensure that products are filled according to standards. (Adjust dials, gauges, photo eyes, torque, labelers, tape machines, date coders, weigh scales and other related equipment, as required).
- Trained and successfully performs required tasks in the Packaging Department. Assembles cartons. Dispense product into appropriate container at required quantities, cap/seal and label containers. Label cartons and complete the process of packaging products according to shop order packaging instructions.
- Performs various SPC (Statistical Process Control) data collection and charting activity, as instructed.
- Responsible for following all production policies and procedures to ensure compliance with product and operation standards.
- Complies with all facility SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) policies and Procedures.
- Conforms to and supports facility quality management system.
- Maintain 5S, Visual Factory and lean manufacturing techniques.
- Follows all housekeeping standards (cleaning equipment and general work area, polishing, sweeping, trash removal.) Assure all equipment/tools and raw materials are stored in proper locations. Ensure that aisles, fire extinguishers and emergency exits are not blocked.
- If applicable, trained and follows all grounding and bonding procedures to control static electricity.
- Handles both hazardous and non-hazardous waste in accordance with environmental policies and procedures.
- Required to be flexible and adjust work hours and/or work overtime to meet business demands.
- Seek guidance and input when needed from level 1, 2 and 3 Packaging/Machine Operators, Chemical Operator, Shift Lead and Supervisor for the tasks required for the day based on schedule.
- Various other duties as assigned.
