ROLE SUMMARY
MasTec is seeking an Accounting Intern for Power Delivery – East Region Operations to join our team of creators and problem solvers. As an Accounting Intern, you will have the opportunity to experience all aspects of accounting from month-end journal entries and reconciliations, to process improvements, cost allocations, and variance analysis. The successful candidate will detail oriented, ability to think critically, and a strong desire to learn.
Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Rotate through the various Accounting groups and perform routine work assignments as requested or assigned
- Assist with various accounting activities associated with monthly and quarterly financial close
- Develop and/or enhance existing spreadsheets to support business needs
- Prepare and analyze monthly variances for management
- Implement, evaluate and monitor controls systems
- Gather and analyze financial data on an ad hoc basis
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in financial recordkeeping and reporting.
- Contribute to fostering a positive team culture and supporting team initiatives to achieve success.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing financial processes, systems, and tools.
- Contribute to accurate financial reporting and communication of financial performance to stakeholders.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or other business related fields.
- Basic excel skill, mastery preferred.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Desire to learn and grown.
