The Henlopen Hotel is seeking an experienced General Manager (GM) to oversee all aspects of hotel operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and driving profitability. The GM will lead a dynamic team, implement strategic initiatives, and maintain the hotel’s reputation as a premier destination in Rehoboth Beach. This individual will have excellent customer service skills and will exude professionalism when interfacing with guest.
Role and Responsibilities.
Leadership and Management:
-Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across all departments.
-Foster a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and professional
growth.
-Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate goals, updates, and feedback.
Guest Experience:
-Ensure exceptional service standards are met and maintained across all areas of the hotel.
-Address guest complaints and feedback promptly and effectively.
-Implement programs to enhance the guest experience, including special events and
promotions.
Financial Management:
-Prepare and manage the annual budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
-Monitor revenue and expenses, implementing strategies to optimize profitability.
-Analyze financial reports and make data-driven decisions to improve hotel performance.
Operations Management:
-Oversee daily hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, and maintenance.
-Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
-Implement and maintain hotel policies and procedures to ensure a smooth operation.
Sales and Marketing:
-Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing team to develop and execute strategies to
attract new guests.
-Monitor market trends and competitors to identify opportunities for growth.
-Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and community organizations.
Quality Control:
-Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities and guest areas to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards.
-Implement quality assurance programs and monitor guest feedback for continuous
improvement.
Strategic Planning:
-Develop and implement long-term strategic goals for the hotel.
-Participate in community events and networking opportunities to enhance the hotel’s
visibility and reputation.
-Other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications and Preferred Skills.
- Proven track record of driving revenue and managing budgets.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with hotel management software and property management systems.
- Proficient use and understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
- Exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Acute attention to detail and ability to promote high quality standards
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines
- Exhibits behaviors of honesty, commitment to goal achievement and effective relationships with colleagues
- Self-start with the ability to quickly adapt to new circumstances as they arise
- Ability to lead by example, acknowledge and assume responsibility for successes and failures in terms of actions, decisions, processes, and results

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
