Henneman Engineering Inc. is seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Champaign, Illinois.
About the Role
- We are looking for an experienced mechanical engineer with expertise in designing and developing innovative solutions for various industries, including healthcare, municipal, and higher education.
Responsibilities
- The selected candidate will be responsible for performing work as a senior mechanical engineer in all aspects of project development, including client coordination, pre-design services, final design services, meetings, site visits, RFIs, change orders, and overall project management.
- Key responsibilities include conceptualizing the initial process, mechanical, and plumbing design approach for projects, having overall responsibility for the engineering and/or design work related to process, mechanical, and plumbing systems, and code requirements.
- The successful candidate will conduct existing conditions surveys and prepare PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, sections, elevations, and details as appropriate to document relevant conditions.
- This role involves organizing/ preparing/reviewing mechanical and plumbing construction drawings (PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, sections, elevations, and details as appropriate), technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
- The selected individual will develop engineering solutions and designs, cost estimates, bill of materials, and schedules for projects.
- A high level of knowledge of applicable codes and standards related to mechanical, piping, and plumbing systems is required.

Qualifications
- A 4-Year Mechanical Engineering bachelor's degree from an accredited University in the United States is required.
- Professional Engineer license in Illinois is highly preferred.
- The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of mechanical engineering experience in a design and consulting firm such as ours.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC design is highly preferred.
