We are seeking a student for a part-time Business Intelligence internship with the Enterprise Business Intelligence team. In this internship, you will assist the BI team in reporting and data efforts, collaborate with technologists from all areas of the organization, and bring an excitement for learning. You'll gain insights into standards, security measures, and governance practices around data utilization. This position requires a level 3 security check as a requirement for employment.

Location and hours:
This position is remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site an average of 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Work hours are Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. (a minimum of 20 hours/week). These internships will start in June 2025 and will last two years in duration. While these positions are designated as remote, hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota.

In this position, you will:
- Assist in developing reports to interpret, visualize, and present data in informative and dynamic ways.
- Participate in requirement and testing cycles; ensure that the integrity and validity of the data throughout each phase of data-focused project lifecycles.
- Learning database design, data warehousing, and data modeling to provide and validate information and data across multiple sources.
- Create and maintain documentation throughout the project development lifecycle.
- Collaborate effectively with team and make meaningful contributions to projects.
- Participate in data catalog implementation and maintenance.
- Current enrollment for the 2025-2026 fall academic school year in a bachelor's degree program in IT, computer science, or another closely related field.
- Access to reliable internet and self-supported remote office space.
- Experience with:
- SQL query languages.
- Data visualization tools (i.e. Power Bi and Tableau)
- Collaborating with others on a team to progress projects.
- Extracting data from data sources.
- Knowledge of Developing ETL in tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, or any other market leading ETL tools.
- Ability to:
- Document effectively and clearly.
- Present your work in front of technical and non-technical audiences.
- Solicit and interpret functional and technical specifications.
- Demonstrate a team player instinct with the ability to adjust into various roles when necessary.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing.
