What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patron Experience Supervisor position at Hennepin County?
Come join the Hennepin County Library (HCL) as a Library Supervisor (Patron Experience Supervisor). Library Supervisors are pivotal leaders who manage public service in-person at Hennepin County libraries. As a Library Supervisor, you will oversee staff in delivering excellent service and manage a building in creating a safe and welcoming environment.
Successful supervisors are excellent communicators who develop relationships, motivate individuals, and build effective teams. As key members of the management team for Hennepin County Libraries, they collaborate with supervisors and managers to provide development opportunities for staff learning and growth. Their work is critical to creating a Hennepin County where every person has the opportunity and resources to inspire, facilitate and celebrate lifelong learning.

Location and hours:
Hennepin County Library will be hiring multiple supervisor vacancies at libraries throughout the county from the list generated by this posting.
Current vacancies include Augsburg Park Library.

These positions are internally classified as an Administrative Assistant, Intermediate.

In these positions, you will:
Provide vision and leadership in customer service, collection maintenance, programming, and community connections so that library services address identified community need.
Support the work of assigned staff through all aspects of supervision, including planning, training, coaching, development, and performance management.
Manage operational and logistical needs related to library buildings and services, including scheduling staff and directing workflow priorities.
Serve as project manager and/or team leader on system-wide programs, projects, or initiatives.
Need to have:
One of the following:
Bachelor's degree or higher in public administration, business administration, or other field appropriate to the position and two or more years of experience in general administrative work relating to the management of departmental/organizational operations or in a specialty area appropriate to the position.
Six or more years of experience in general administrative work relating to the management of departmental/organizational operations or in a specialty area appropriate to the position.
Note: Experience in general administrative work related to the management of departmental/organizational operations or in a specialty area appropriate to the position may be substituted for education on a year for year basis. General administrative work is defined as the administration and/or management of programs, policies, and/or budgets.

- With general administrative or leadership-oriented work, such as project or schedule management, volunteer coordination, special team responsibilities, meeting facilitation, and/or other relevant activities.
- Providing or supervising for exceptional customer service.
- Creating supportive environments, leading change, managing conflict, and evaluating performance.
- Working with youth, seniors, and/or families with young children.
- Connecting with individuals from communities that the library serves.
- Ability to:

- Work effectively with community members of all ages and abilities from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
