Location and hours:
This volunteer opportunity is located at the Adult Correctional Facility, 1355 Shenandoah Ln. N. Plymouth, MN 55447. One-hour yoga sessions will be held separately for male and female residents. Scheduling is dependent on facility program hours and volunteer’s availability. Days and times are to be determined.
About the volunteer position type: This is an advertisement for an unpaid, volunteer position.
In this volunteer position, you will:
- Design and plan yoga sessions tailored to the needs and abilities of residents at the Adult Correctional Facility
- Instruct residents on the different yoga postures and techniques
- Provide guidance and support to residents at both men’s and women’ units, ensuring their safety and comfort during the practice
- Explain and demonstrate breathing exercises and meditation practices
- Promote the benefits of regular yoga practice, such as increased flexibility, better stress management, and improved overall health
- Successfully complete volunteer orientation and training
- Be supported by a designated Adult Correctional Facility staff
