Hennepin Healthcare, Minnesota’s first Level 1 Trauma Center, and ENT Specialty Care, the Twin Cities Metro area’s largest private practice ENT group, jointly seeks a Pediatric Otolaryngologist. In this role, it is necessary to demonstrate sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. About the ENT Specialty Care Team / Role Our Team at ENT Specialty Care team consists of 17 specialists and comprehensive otolaryngologists, 14 audiologists, 3 Speech Language Therapists, and 3 physician assistants, along with a team of collaborating allergists, and comprises the largest private practice ENT group in the Twin Cities. Our practice currently has two fellowship-trained pediatric otolaryngologists, providing full range of routine and complex pediatric ENT care. Clinic responsibilities include seeing patients at one or more of our private clinics throughout the Twin Cities and also seeing patients in clinic at one or more of our hospital partners (Hennepin Healthcare and Gillette Children’s Specialty Health Care), including inpatient consults. Opportunities are available to provide multidisciplinary care in our monthly pediatric aerodigestive clinic, and pediatric FEES clinic. We collaborate closely with other pediatric sub-specialists including critical care, neonatology, pulmonary, gastroenterology, plastic surgery, urology, and general surgery. Opportunities are available for ownership in one of several affiliated surgicenter centers, and ownership in our hearing aid subsidiary business. General backup pediatric call on a rotating basis primarily covering Gillette Children’s Specialty Health Care (rarely involves coming in after hours). Rare primary call for the general ENT Specialty practice About the Hennepin Healthcare Team / Role Our team consists of 4 General Otolaryngologists, 1 Head and Neck Surgeon, 2 Facial Plastic Surgeons and 4 Physician Assistants to provide care to pediatric patients in our downtown Minneapolis Otolaryngology Clinic, OR, and hospital. Our clinic, opened in 2018, is state-of-the art with flat screens, scope towers, microscopes in every exam room. This academic pediatric otolaryngology practice involves caring for a large and very diverse patient population with a focus on educating Otolaryngology residents from the University of Minnesota. Clinical care includes complex pediatric otolaryngology including otology, endocrine surgery, rhinology, laryngology. The average schedule will consist of two full days of clinic per month and two OR days at Hennepin with the remainder of time at ENT Specialty Care. Ample opportunity for research through the Hennepin Healthcare Research Institute. May also be requested to have or be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Minnesota Department of Otolaryngology. Call for pediatric otolaryngology will be shared with two other pediatric otolaryngologists. Call is not posted at Hennepin but will be back-up for pediatrics only. It will be at the discretion of the attending otolaryngologist on primary call to request pediatric back-up. Historical volumes have been 1-2 consults per month. The hired physician will staff inpatient pediatric consults seen by the resident service. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications : ? Must possess a current unrestricted license to practice Medicine in the State of Minnesota or be eligible for licensure Board Certified or Board Eligible in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. If Board Eligible, must be Board Certified within 4 years from the date of completion of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery residency Board subcertification in Pediatric Complex Otolaryngology or eligibility for subcertification in Pediatric Complex Otolaryngology Current or eligible for D.E.A.
