Staff Nurse (RN) - NICU

SUMMARY: We are currently seeking a Staff Nurse to join our Newborn Intensive Care Unit. This position is a 0.75 FTE (5 shifts/ pay period), 12-hour shifts, rotating Day/Nights, Every Third Weekend. The Newborn Intensive Care Unit is a 21 bed Level III neonatal intensive care unit that provides care to neonates who requiring medical care beyond that which is considered normal newborn care. Services are provided to neonates by our multi-disciplinary health care team, which consists of Neonatologists, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Support Staff, Social Workers, Occupational, Physical, respiratory and Speech therapists, and Public Health Nurses, along with any other services needed to meet the family’s needs. RESPONSIBILITIES: Within the context of the Hennepin Healthcare System Patient and Family Centered Care model, and under general supervision, the registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care by: - Protecting, promoting, and optimizing health - Preventing illness and injury - Alleviating suffering through the treatment of the human response - Partnering with the patient, their family and significant others - Documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: - 1 year of recent Women or Children ( L&D, Post Partum, NICU, or Peds/PICU) professional nursing (RN) experience - Graduation from an accredited school of nursing - Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota Preferred Qualifications: - Certification in area of clinical specialty - BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
