Summary: The Bender/Press Brake Operators are responsible for setting up and operating heavy machinery (CNC) used to bend, distort, punch and cut metal. Their expertise lies in reading blueprints and properly aligning materials before executing tasks for a precise finish. A Bender/Press Brake Operator ensures that correctly made parts are made to utilize when assembling containers and other metal goods.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, bend, use hands, and fingers for 8 hours. (Overtime may be required)

Requirements
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for both set up and operation of machines
- Changing tooling, computer skills, uploading jobs into machine interface, first piece inspection, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance
- Ability to read computerized blueprints and drawings
- Attention to detail
- Ability to use and read measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, protractor, and tape measure
- Must be able to add and subtract
- Able to bend on a variety of metals, galvanized, Steel, Aluminum and Stainless
- Maintain departmental 5S housekeeping standards
- Education: High School Diploma/GED required
- Experience: 1-3 years’ experience as Bender/Press Brake Operator
- Reading Ability: Must be able to proficiently read and understand English.
- Skills:
- Sheet metal capabilities preferred.
- Possess ability to interpret documents, blueprints, bill of materials operating safety manuals, work instructions, possess mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic calculations to operate bending machines.
- Must be able to demonstrate basic measuring/mechanical skills pertaining to fulfill job duties
- Experience operating Forklift and Overhead Cranes a plus (willing to train).
