Duties: HDR's Geotechnical Engineer in the New York office will:
Requirements: Master's Degree in Civil Engineering and 2 years' experience in geotechnical engineering or a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and 5 years' experience in geotechnical engineering.
Required experience must include experience in:
Accepting licensed and unlicensed candidates. Professional Engineering licensure is not a prerequisite for this position.
NOTE: All HDR positions in the US may be subject to background checks and/or pre-employment drug testing.
Rate of Pay: $88,150 minimum per year.

- Perform fieldwork including:
- Meeting with clients on site and performing field reconnaissance;
- Conducting geotechnical soil borings, rock coring, cone penetration tests and test pit investigations; and
- Construction Monitoring;
- Prepare geotechnical design of foundation elements for bridge structures, buildings, retaining walls, fill and cut embankments, and fender system, including:
- Interpreting supplemental and historical soil boring logs and determining soil strata;
- Evaluation of soil engineering parameters;
- Soil stress analysis;
- Seismic Evaluation;
- Design of Shallow Foundation Elements;
- Design of Deep Foundation Elements;
- Slope Stability Analysis;
- Providing guidelines for ground improvement;
- Providing guidelines for construction considerations;
- Pre and post Construction condition survey;
- Providing guidelines for construction instrumentation and monitoring requirements;
- Drafting Boring Location Plan and General Subsurface Profile;
- Design services during construction including generating engineering responses for RFIs and reviewing submittals; and
- Conduct Quality Control including review of geotechnical reports and fieldwork performed by others.
