Job Description
A leader in the Battery separator business, and they need
a Process Engineer.
The Process Engineer will lead, and coordinate engineering projects
related to process improvement and problem solving and works closely
with other departments to implement projects.
The Process Engineer will prepare and carry out approved projects
including equipment redesign and alterations; new equipment
specification, installation and startup; and change of work procedures,
methods, etc.
The Process Engineer will plan equipment layout and workflow, estimates
routing times and manpower requirements, sets up lines, and trains
supervisors and managers in correct production procedures for new or
revised production operations
The Process Engineer will prepare cost estimates to implement changes
from present to new methods; estimate expected savings resulting from
changes.
The Process Engineer will conduct special studies involved in terms of
methods, time, manufacturing estimates on new and complex work
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementing large-scale maintenance shutdown
projects.
- Create and maintain drawings, diagrams, schematics, databases,
records, files and other documentation pertinent to special and
regular assignments performed.
- Assist with instructing, training, and answering area-specific
questions for other personnel.
- Contribute to a safe and healthy workplace at all plant levels.
- Assist in developing new procedures, revising existing procedures
and maintaining compliance with established procedures as well as
mandated state and federal guidelines.
- Control expenditures within limitations of the project budget.
- Contribute and accountable in obtaining all KPI’s in assigned area.
- Support the Plant Vision and make data-driven decisions focused on
prevention
- Set an example for daily rigor and attention to detail
- Respond with urgency, setting high expectations for everyone in the
plant
- Understand the environmental impacts associated with work activities
and the benefits of improved personal performance and EMS
requirements.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related discipline
- 5 years of experience in a high-volume rubber processing
environment
- Experience working directly with production and maintenance
personnel
- Experience with lean techniques and structured quality systems.
- Safety and ES&H focus as a priority in every operation
- Continuous Improvement or Lean Six Sima expertise
