Job Summary

Key Functions/Duties

- Prepare and submit required regulatory reports accurately and on time.
- Develop and implement site-specific HSE standards and programs to achieve best-in-class performance.
- Oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste management and shipments in accordance with regulations.
- Provide training and coaching on HSE programs to ensure employee understanding and engagement.
- Support incident investigations using root cause analysis tools, assisting with corrective action development and implementation.
- Participate in the emergency response team, equipped with the skills and knowledge to address HSE emergencies.
- Manage contractor safety programs to minimize risks associated with construction and trade activities.
- Coordinate HSE training, risk reduction efforts, and improvement projects.
- Engage in process hazard analyses (PHAs) and HSE committee meetings.
- Serve as backup to the HSE Manager as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, HSE, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA, DOT), with experience in the chemical industry.
- Familiarity with hazard recognition, behavioral-based safety, and job hazard analysis preferred.
- Strong technical aptitude, including proficiency with computer systems and a willingness to learn new tools.
- Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
- Flexibility to adjust work hours, including occasional nights and weekends, to meet operational needs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift a maximum of 50-75 lbs as needed.
- Requires sitting, walking, standing, and climbing stairs or ladders daily to complete tasks.
