General Statement of Duties
This vacancy is for the 2025-26 School Year. Candidates with Immediate availability are encouraged to apply.
This position entails teaching knowledge and skills necessary for the installation and servicing of air conditioning, heating and refrigeration systems in both residential and commercial settings. Emphasis will be placed on the use of tools and materials, basic refrigeration principles, basic electricity, and familiarization with various residential and commercial systems. The selected candidate must hold a valid journeyman license. Preference will be given to candidates with a master license and extensive experience working with residential and commercial systems. Knowledge of and ability to teach OSHA and EPA / CFC certification is required.
The selected candidate will be required to gain a valid Virginia Technical Professional License.
This is a 239 day or 11 month assignment
The successful candidate will be required to :
- Plan, organize and deliver instruction to meet individual and group learning needs utilizing state guidelines and division curriculum.
- Regularly exhibit considerable knowledge of learning theory and best practices.
- Consistently act in the best interests of students and model appropriate behavior in all professional interactions.
