The Henrico County Manager’s Office is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Administrative Assistant to support Deputy County Managers in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role emphasizes exceptional customer service (both in person and over the phone), multitasking, and calendar management while assisting in legislative liaison duties.
- Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring all inquiries and interactions are handled professionally and efficiently.
- Manage calendars and schedules for Deputy County Managers, coordinating meetings and resolving scheduling conflicts.
- Oversee walk-in and phone inquiries, ensuring smooth daily operations in a high-traffic environment.
- Prepare and draft correspondence and memos to keep the Board of Supervisors informed on legislative developments during sessions.
- Assist the legislative liaison with tracking relevant bills, conducting research, and preparing reports.
- Arrange and coordinate logistics for meetings, conferences, and other events.
- Draft, proofread, and edit outgoing documents to maintain accuracy and professionalism.
- Create and manage Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, and PowerPoint presentations as needed.
- Scan and organize documents for electronic filing systems to ensure quick access and compliance.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail, forms, and communications with efficiency and attention to detail.
- Stay organized and adapt to shifting priorities to manage multiple tasks effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school and five (5) years of related clerical/secretarial experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Additional InformationExpected hiring range will be at the lower end of the listed pay scale.
