Job Summary

We are seeking a Medical Technologist to join our team at Henrico Doctors' Hospital Forest.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform assigned laboratory tests in specialty departments, including Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Blood Bank, Serology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Microbiology.
• Analyze microscopic, immunologic, biologic, bacteriologic, hematologic, and chemical tests and their results.
• Receive and process specimens, and put away supplies when received in the department.
• Troubleshoot and resolve instrument problems, documenting corrective action in appropriate logs.
• Document quality control procedures and take corrective action as necessary.
• Train new employees and/or students on laboratory procedures.
• Participate in phlebotomy and accession responsibilities.

Requirements:

• Previous Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Scientist experience preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Biological, Chemical, and/or Physical Science required.
• Nursing Degree with CLIA acceptable courses considered.
• Certification as an ASCP, AMT, NCA, or HEW preferred.
• Continuing education to maintain registry/licensure required.
