Overview
Works under general supervision in delivering technical nursing care to assigned patients. Administers prescribed treatments following approved nursing procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assists in providing nursing care to patients.
- Plans appropriate nursing measures based on short-term patient needs.
- Under direction of the Clinical Coordinator, reinforces patient education as patient presents readiness to learn.
- Floats to other units within the practice when a need is indicated.
- Communicates effectively and establishes/maintains interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, and hospital personnel.
- Knowledgeable in the growth and developmental needs of infants through geriatric patients.
- Follows Universal Precautions.
- Successfully passes practice specific competencies.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of pathophysiology, the nursing process, and nursing interventions necessary for delivering technical nursing care
- Completion of an accredited practical nurse program and current Indiana licensure or awaiting Indiana State Board testing results for Indiana LPN licensure or reciprocity for Indiana licensure
- One-year experience preferred
- BLS certification
- Excellent customer service skills
- Computer experience
