Description
The purpose of this position is to manage all aspects of the food services program for Senior Services. This will include supervision of the preparation, cooking, packaging and the delivery of meals for the senior centers and Meals on Wheels Program. Provides oversight of all aspects of Henry County Senior Services, food service sites.
Examples of Duties
- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff develops and oversees employee work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and control; compiles and reviews timesheets; approves / processes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriate; assists with or completes employee performance appraisals; directs work; acts as a liaison between employees and management; and trains staff in operations, policies, and procedures.
- Prepares quarterly menus for submission to Registered Dietician for review and approval for compliance with guidelines. Supervise daily, weekly and monthly inventories of food and supplies and facilitate re-ordering as necessary.
- Assists in developing and implementing budget for all food service kitchens submits invoices from vendors and kitchen Supervisors; prepares and completes revenue reports; makes deposits; and monitors expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budget.
- Enforces department, Henry County Government, state and federal rules and regulations; ensures staff is informed of policy / rules changes; updates and develops division standard operating procedures.
- Manages maintenance of facilities and equipment; inspects and monitors facilities and equipment for proper operation and safety concerns; prepares and submits work orders; and coordinates maintenance and repair activities with other County staff; and ensures facilities and equipment are in compliance with established safety rules and regulations.
- Processes a variety of documentation associated with department / division operations, within designated timeframes and per established procedures; receives and reviews various documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards, or retains as appropriate; prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, and other documentation; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports; and maintains computerized and / or hardcopy records.
- Operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review, or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, Internet, e-mail, or other software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.
- Communicates with supervisor, other County employees, the public, outside agencies, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience :
Requires an Associate's Degree in Food Service Management or related field. Requires three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience, to include two (2) years experience in food service management with at least one (1) year supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses or Certifications :
Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license. Must possess and maintain valid CPR and First Aid certifications. Must possess and maintain ServSafe certification.

The work is light work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and / or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
