JOB
The purpose of this position is to provide security for all Henry County courthouses and its occupants by assisting Sheriff deputies in the courtroom and security stations.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Serves as an important link between the court, the jurors, and the public; assists the judge and jurors while court is in session; assures compliance within strict guidelines and procedures of the court; enforces and adheres to the courtroom’s rules and procedures.Interacts frequently with the public; reflects the duties and office of the court as to maintain the respect and dignity of the judicial branch of government.Operates security stations at all public entry locations of state and superior court; monitors the electronic security devices; enforces compliance of all entry procedures and rules; greets the public, officials, and other law enforcement officers in a respectful manner; ensures security of the courthouse and prevents the entry of weapons or illegal substances.Performs other related duties as assigned.

Ability to interact with the public in an effective and courteous manner.Ability to get along with others, and work effectively with the public and co-workers.Ability to exercise judgement, decisiveness, and creativity in situations involving broader aspects of operations.Ability to be agile and move quickly and efficiently if an emergency arises.Ability to determine, calculate, tabulate, or summarize data/information, following a prescribed plan requiring the exercise of some judgement.Ability to operate, maneuver, and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials used in performing essential functions.Ability to utilize a wide variety of data and information, such as NCIC and GCIC guidelines, County and department policies, and verbal and written standard operating procedures. PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe work is light work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. Requires the ability the exert moderate, though not constant, physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and prolonged sitting and standing. Requires mental acuity including the ability to make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes, the ability to express ideas by means of the spoken word and have close visual acuity.
