Social Worker
The Social Services for Behavioral Health is part of an integrated team based in a Hospital and working with patients and their families and care providers. The ages of the patients normally served are adult and geriatric. The duties are to support patients to cope with social, emotional, economic, provide discharge planning, and environmental problems. The main aims are to help patients maintain their independence and to live as normal a life as possible in the community and to work jointly with health staff on social matters that may affect present and future health. The social worker may utilize outside agencies, relatives, neighbors and volunteers in the community
Qualifications
EDUCATION & TRAINING: The Activity Coordinator/Social Worker for Behavioral Health will have a Master’s Degree in Social Work or in recreation therapy, therapeutic recreation, recreation administration, LCSW/LMSW, MA-MFT or an equivalent program or work under the direction of such.
Employee must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 6 months of hire date and maintain continuous certification throughout their employment. Failure to maintain certification may result in corrective action.
Employee must obtain Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification within 9 months of hire date and maintain continuous certification throughout employment. Failure to maintain certification may result in corrective action.
