Description
The Registered Staff Nurse plans, organizes, and directs hospice care and is experienced in nursing, with emphasis on community health education and experience. The professional nurse builds from the resources of the community to plan and direct services to meet the needs of individual and families within their homes and communities. The Registered Staff Nurse assumes professional nursing responsibility and accountability within a designated time frame for the care and treatment of assigned patients. He/ she interact with other health care team members and/or disciplines in accordance with standard nursing practice and West Tennessee Healthcare Henry County policies. The ages of the patients served are pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
The position is Full-Time Day Shift with alternating on-call paid at an hourly rate. This office covers 6 counties: Henry, Carroll, Benton, Weakley, Stewart, Humphreys. 1:1 patient/nurse ratio
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Minimum Education/Training Graduate of Accredited Registered Nursing Program.
Licensure/Certification:
Registered Nurse licensed in Tennessee.
BLS: All Clinical RN’s:
Employee must obtain Basic Life support (BLS) Certification with 6 months of hire date and maintain continuous certification throughout their employment. Failure to maintain certification may result in corrective action.
ACLS: Designated Charge RNs, Emergency Department RNs, Critical Care RNs, Women’s Center RNs, Operating Room RNs, Recovery Room RNs, Ambulatory Surgery RNs
Employee must obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification within 9 months of hire date and maintain continuous certification throughout their employment.
Experience:
2 years in Home Health and/or Hospice, Med-Surgical unit; Critical Care, PACU or ER experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting, standing, bending, squatting, reaching, lifting 50 lbs., walking 3 miles per shift, pushing 300 lbs. Must have full use of both upper (to include hands/fingers) and lower extremities. Must be able to see with corrective eyewear. Must be able to hear with assistive device.
