Physical Therapists (PT) provide services to diagnose and treat individuals of all ages, from newborns to the very oldest, which have medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives. PTs examine each individual and develop a plan using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. PTs provide care for people in a variety of settings, including hospitals, private practices, outpatient clinics, home health agencies, schools, sports and fitness facilities, work settings and skilled care facilities. PTs are responsible for the plan that is developed and to be implemented following the initial assessment. The PT will re-assess the patient periodically and make changes as needed in order to insure patient works toward his goals so that improved pain free functional ability can occur. PTs are constantly re-assessing patients to monitor change and critically think if plan of care needs adjustment. Plan for PT patients that are made at initial assessment include goals and discharge plan. This is re-assessed continuously. Physical Therapists participate in CQI, educational development for staff, infection control activities and safety plans for staff and patients. PTs maintain current education and work to Best Practice standards with this information shared with staff. PTs can be in management positions from staff leader to Department Manager.
Computer proficiency is mandatory and prior utilization of an Electronic Medical Record is highly preferred in this role.

- Completes annual education, training and other requirements as appropriate.
Must be able to solve problems independently and confidently by applying analytical and logical thinking.
Qualifications
EDUCATION & TRAINING:
MSPT degree or DPT degree from a school or college approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Minimum experience in outpatient setting
Required: Computer proficiency at a high level
Preferred: Outpatient environment experience preferred
Preferred: Electronic Medical Record experience
LICENSES & CERTIFICATION:
Current license as Physical Therapist in the State of Tennessee
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
