JOB TITLE : Instructional Technology Resource Teacher
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR : Principal and Director of Technology and Innovation
GENERAL DESCRIPTION : The Instructional Technology Resource Teacher (ITRT) should have both content and instructional expertise. The ITRT works as a colleague with classroom teachers to support student learning and teacher practices, to provide on-site professional development for teachers, and to support the improvement of student learning through the use of technology. The ITRT supports integration of instructional technology in the schools to which they are assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Supports the mission and vision of Henry County Public Schools.
- Serves as a liaison between the school and the technology department by attending ITRT meetings and disseminating information.
- Participates fully in professional learning opportunities for ITRTs, including peer observations, professional research and reading, and inquiry sessions.
- Collaborates with and coaches teachers on the integration of technology to enhance instruction.
- Models and coaches instructional methods for integration of technology in a variety of settings (whole group, small group, individual) and provides follow-up support.
- Collaborates with the Instructional coach or curriculum team to support the integration of technology into curriculum and instruction.
- Participates in collaborative instructional planning.
- Assists teachers in the selection of high quality instructional technology materials to meet student needs.
- Conducts non-evaluative classroom observations and provides feedback to teachers and administrators on the school's instructional technology program.
- Develops and facilitates professional learning to address instructional technology needs and other technology platforms used in the daily operations of the school division.
- Provides instructional iPad support throughout the school day.
- Provides technology support during SOL testing at an assigned school.
- Performs other duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree. Eligible for or in possession of an appropriate Virginia teaching license.
