What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Reservoir Ranger position at Henry County Water & Sewerage Authority?
Operates and monitors use of HCWA boat ramps and facilities that are open to fishing and recreational activities. Also monitors and patrols all other HCWA properties and facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Conducts field patrol of HCWA properties, including but not limited to reservoirs, mitigation sites, reservoir buffers and the Cubihatcha facility.
- Maintains accurate records and a daily log of activities. Properly documents information and violations of HCWA reservoir rules and regulations.
- Responds to emergency and distress situations at the reservoirs and informs appropriate Reservoir staff of same.
- Must be available to work a variety of weekends, weekdays, holidays, and evenings as assigned.
- Conducts patrols by foot, vehicle, boat, and ATV/UTV.
- Verifies that appropriate signs are posted at all the reservoirs and mitigation sites.
- Assists Reservoir Department with events and wildlife management activities such as hunting and fishing events.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Explains and enforces all HCWA rules and regulations
- Promotes compliance with current Georgia Hunting and Fishing Laws.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Georgia Driver's License.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
The schedule for this position will include weekdays and weekends. Shift time may vary between 7 AM and 7 PM.
