JOB TITLE: Coordinator of Facilities Maintenance
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Facilities Maintenance
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under the leadership of the Director of Facilities and Maintenance, the Coordinator of Facilities and Maintenance will be responsible for maintaining and managing our organization’s facilities, including managing building maintenance, repairs, and coordinating services to ensure efficient and safe operations for our students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manages the repairs, maintenance, and upkeep of all school facilities.
- Coordinates with vendors and contractors to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Coordinates facilities services, including custodial, landscaping, and security services.
- Monitors and manages facility operations to include but not limited to: HVAC, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and grounds.
- Ensures compliance with all regulations and codes related to building safety and maintenance.
- Develops and maintains relationships with school personnel to ensure a high level of customer service.
- Participates in the development of long-term plans for facility maintenance upgrades and improvements, including capital improvement planning.
- Prepares regular reports on facility operations, expenses, and projects to management.
- Plans, estimates, negotiates, and manages projects through outside contractors and staff personnel as requested.
- Supervises assigned personnel and coordinates with others in Facilities and Maintenance as well as other departments to ensure project completion.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and considerable experience as a skilled tradesperson. Must have appropriate driver’s license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Training or experience in the construction trades to include, but not limited to, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and grounds maintenance, preferred. In-depth knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety protocols required.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
- The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to walk; stand; and stoop, kneel or crouch.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

This is medium work requiring the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. Visual acuity is required for color perception, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, use of measuring devices, operation of machines, operation of motor vehicles or equipment, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities. The work is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, noise, vibration, hazards, atmospheric conditions, and oils.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize competing demands. Experience working with vendors, contractors, and property managers. In-depth knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety protocols. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facilities management software. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Availability for after-hours emergency calls and occasional weekend work
