Position Description Summary

Henry Ford College presents an opportunity for a Project Manager for Institutional Strategy.

Reporting to the Vice President of Strategy & Human Resources, this position manages a diverse portfolio of projects within the Strategy & Human Resources division and performs highly specialized administrative work calling for independent judgment with outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail. This position is also responsible for managing all aspects of the federal Perkins V grant program, including annual grant application, budgeting, project management, required reporting, ensuring compliance with federal Perkins legislation and relevant state guidelines, and maintaining the College's associated State of Michigan Program Inventory.

  • Overall Experience : Three years of relevant experience in an educational / academic or related setting.
  • Grants Experience : Federal, state, or private grant management experience, including experience writing grants, interpreting and adhering to grant guidelines / regulations, as well as budget planning / monitoring.
  • Education : Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Teamwork : Encourages and facilitates cooperation, trust, and group identity; fosters commitment and team spirit; works with others to achieve goals.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities including but not limited to

  • Plan, implement, and manage various projects within the Strategy & Human Resources division using project management methods, tools, software, scheduling, report creation, follow up, and other communication methods.
  • Document, evaluate, and improve processes, procedures, and workflows within the Strategy & Human Resources division.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Academic Affairs, Vice President of Student Affairs, and other College personnel including faculty and staff to develop and draft the annual Perkins grant application, which includes providing guidance on fund allocation in accordance with applicable Perkins legislation.
  • Maintain detailed records of all Perkins grant expenditures. Monitor progress on completion of Perkins grant activities and outcomes stated in grant application and recommend application modifications as needed.
  • Prepare final report of annual Perkins grant activities for review before submission to the State of Michigan.
  • Educate and train faculty and staff on Perkins grant procedures, processes, and compliance.
  • Maintain the college's State of Michigan Program Inventory.
  • Develop and implement standardized operating and procedural manuals within the Strategy & Human Resources division.
  • Deliver high-quality documents and reports that are accurate, grammatically correct, and represent the professional image of the division and College.
  • Represent the Strategy and Human Resources division on various College committees, as assigned.
  • Provide confidential executive and administrative support to the Vice President of Strategy and Human Resources.
