GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under general supervision the Radiation Therapist:
- Administers radiation treatments to patients, as prescribed by the physician, utilizing specialized equipment including linear accelerator,
- High Dose Rate (HDR) After loader, and Computed Tomography.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- A.R.R.T. Radiation Therapy Technology Certification or registry eligible.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Normal office environment with minimal exposure to noise, dust, or extreme temperatures.
- Lifting of patients, moving & pushing wheelchairs/stretchers and lifting of equipment, above head, up to 50 lbs.
- Potential exposure to radiation; however, adherence to safety procedures minimizes likelihood of danger.
- Frequent interaction with emotionally depressed and terminally/critically ill patients.
