GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI, or Co-I coordinates epidemiologic studies. Assists in the design and planning of studies, oversees database development and management, and aids in the analysis of data. Responsible for various tasks associated with the recruitment of study subjects and acquisition of data for biomedical studies. Trains and oversees study personnel. May be expected to present an abstract at a national scientific meeting. Expected to participate in journal clubs and keep current with epidemiological literature and methods. May assist Investigators in development of abstracts, posters and manuscripts.
This position will report to the Henry Ford Medical Group (HFMG) Medical Director of Diversity & Inclusion, who leads the HFMG Office of Diversity & Inclusion. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists in the design and planning of epidemiological studies. Assumes duties as
assigned by the Investigator.
2. Assists in developing and testing of data collection instruments.
3. Oversees database development and management.
4. Trains and oversees study personnel. Coordinates quality control activities.
5. Assists other epidemiologists, biostatisticians, and clinical investigators in the
analysis and interpretation of data obtained from studies.
6. Responsible for the identification, recruitment and follow up of study subjects. May
meet with study subjects and/or study personnel at external sites.
7. Conducts library research, writes literature reviews, develops procedure manuals
and report formats.
8. Compiles progress or status reports on varying aspects of each study.
9. Responsible for IRB applications, progress reports, etc.
10.May be responsible for oversight of project specific budgets.
11.Performs other related duties as necessary.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Master's degree required.
- Master's degree in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology or related field preferred.
- Literacy in computer software programs used for data management and analysis.
