What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Patient Access Representative- Outpatient Infusion position at Henry Ford Health System?
GENERAL SUMMARY
- Department: Outpatient Infusion
- Schedule: Full-time Days: Monday - Friday
- Location: Southfield, MI
Leads assigned staff in performing activities related to patient registration.
Responsibilities:
- Schedules staff to optimize departmental resources and productivity.
- Orders and maintains appropriate supplies.
- Confirms insurance coverage.
- Determines necessity for pre-authorization and obtains authorization for scheduled procedures.
- Determines financial responsibility for services to be provided.
- Communicates with patients and practitioners regarding financial responsibility and insurance coverage issues, and notifies them of any services requested and/or referred that are not authorized by insurance.
- Keeps abreast of insurance company changes and updates.
- Communicates these changes to staff.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: -
- High School diploma equivalency with 1 year of experience OR 2 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. - Note: Required professional licensure/certification and 1 year of experience can be used in lieu of education, if applicable.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Lead experience - 4 years of call center experience
