About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team. This full-time position will support two locations, Grosse Pointe and Grosse Pointe Woods, with varying hours between 8- and 10-hour shifts.
Responsibilities
- Operate equipment and perform various mammography-related procedures
- Prepare and position patients, selecting anatomic and technical parameters accurately
- Explain procedures and educate patients on regular mammography in preventive breast health
- Evaluate film for technical quality, including density, contrast, definition, and distortion
- Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines
- Promptly submit high-quality images and documents to PACS
- Maintain equipment functionality and report potential issues
- Ensure department cleanliness and organization
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable job-specific experience
- BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Mammography credential from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 12 months of hire date
Preferences
Demonstrate proficiency in screening and diagnostic mammography in a fast-paced environment; experience in Automated Whole Breast Ultrasound and Stereotactic Breast Biopsies is beneficial but willing to train
Good communication skills, multi-tasking, and ability to work independently
