Job Title : Technician
Job Specialty : Medical Lab
Job Duration : 8 weeks
Shift : One person, 6pm - 2 : 30am, Monday to Friday. No weekends or holidays.
Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week
Experience : Minimum years of experience not specified
License : Certification from a recognized national certifying agency
Certifications : ASCP or NCA
Must-Have : Completion of an Associate Degree Program in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science
Job Description :
- Perform select procedures on blood and / or other body fluids or specimens under direct supervision by a laboratory technologist, leader, and / or supervisor, according to defined protocols.
- Involves manual techniques or the use of laboratory instruments and information systems.
- May perform phlebotomy as needed.
- Focus on clerical and customer service tasks, including making phone calls for critical value calling.
- Preference for candidates with experience using SunQuest and Epic systems.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with others.
- Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform laboratory functions.
