What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner Physician Assistant Transplant Full Time Rotating Shifts Detr position at Henry Ford Health System?
Wonderful opportunity to provide care to pre & post liver, kidney, pancreas, & intestinal transplant patients! It is a busy unit given the volume of transplants performed each year at Henry Ford Hospital (approximately 300 transplants per year).

- Fast paced environment which promotes autonomy and clinical expertise.
- The Specialty/Invasive Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA), will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
- The Specialty/Invasive NP or PA will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to patients and their families.
- Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care.
- Works in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently.
- Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience.
- 12 Hour shifts rotating between days and nights,
- One weekend shift approximately every other month. Previous APP experience inpatient - preferably in an ICU setting would be preferred, as well as experience caring for transplant patients.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Master's degree in nursing- OR- Bachelor's Degree or Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner -OR- Requires Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National. Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).Current State license as a Registered Nurse.
- Current BLS.
- Current ACLS/ATLS/PALS provider status as required by department.
