Department: Behavioral Health
FULL Time position 7:00am-3:30pm- - rotating weekends & Holidays
GENERAL SUMMARY
Develops and implements activity therapy treatment plans.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts patient assessments and establishes recreational/leisure therapy treatment goals.| Evaluates each patient's progress and the effectiveness of recreational/leisure therapy interventions.
- Coordinates therapeutic recreational/leisure activities for both large and small groups. Observes patient response and encourages socialization.
- Provides patient with information regarding resources and therapeutic recreational/leisure activities in the community.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association
- Therapist specializing in Recreation credentialed from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification preferred.
- Associates or higher in Recreational Therapy
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Previous experience with Behavioral Health populations
Education:
- Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. No additional preferences.
