Department: Respiratory Therapy
Contingent (not scheduled to work a specified number of hours per pay); 7AM-7:30 PM, 24 hours per 6 week scheduling period, Holidays, hard-to-fills and weekends as needed.
Henry Ford Providence Park - Novi, MI
GENERAL SUMMARY
- Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies. -
- Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis. -
- Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition.
- Perform advanced respiratory care modalities. -
- Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome. -
- Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provide information about community support groups and other available programs.
- Respond to emergency resuscitation team code.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. -
- 3-5 years of ICU experience preferred
- NICU experience a plus
CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association accepted.
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Michigan Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association accepted.
- Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association accepted.
