What are the responsibilities and job description for the Therapeutic Recreation Specialist position at Henry Ford Health System?
CONTINGENT, MUST BE AVALIABLE FOR ALL SHIFTS
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Provides therapeutic recreation services to patients referred for services to restore, remediate and rehabilitate a person's level of functioning and independence in life activities, to promote health and wellness and to reduce or eliminate activity and participation restrictions.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree with major in Therapeutic Recreation is required.
Current National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Certification is required.
BLS certification required within 90 days of hire date.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Rehabilitation Setting: Clinical training and experience in a physical rehabilitation setting is preferred.
Behavioral Health Setting: Clinical experience in a behavioral health setting as Recreation Therapist is preferred.
