HJF is seeking a Holistic Health and Performance Education Specialist with subject matter expertise in human performance training. Responsible for preparing, delivering and facilitating educational course materials, documents, presentations, and other technology-driven efforts to support the development and delivery of courses for the Army’s H2F-A program. Completes more routine tasks independently and relies on guidance from higher Program Manager (PM) levels or lead subject matter experts for more complex tasks.

This position will be in support of the Consortium for Health and Military Performance (CHAMP) under the Uniformed Services University department of Military Emergency Medicine. They will be working with the Human Performance Resources by CHAMP (HPRC) team to develop and stand-up curriculum for the Army’s Holistic Health and Fitness Advisor (H2F-A) program.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.

The site background requirement for this position requires that you have lived in the US for three out of the past five years.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates and conducts course training for CHAMP’s human performance optimization education initiatives.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) across diverse domains, including physical readiness, mental readiness, sleep readiness, spiritual readiness, nutritional readiness, behavior change, integration, resource management, and instructional design to create high-quality online and in-person courses.
  • Support the HPRC team curriculum leads in the creation and delivery of educational content, including videos, graphics, worksheets, online course materials, and in-person training.
  • Develops educational curricula focused on the integration of holistic human performance training principles into daily US Army (or other services) activities, and providing technical support.
  • Oversees and maintains curriculum content within a stakeholder education platform, monitors that changes to content are made as planned, and oversees curriculum engagement.
  • Coordinates with the HPRC education team to maintain and update project documents, spreadsheets, trackers, and assists in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports.
  • Provides administrative support under the direction of a supervisor such as hiring, purchasing, and tracking progress.
  • Under supervision, ensures the terms and conditions of the award / funding vehicle are adhered to. Assists in ensuring all required reports are completed and submitted on time.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for the role.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Assigned Lead: May recommend the following: employee hiring, disciplinary action, and starting salaries; provide input on employee performance evaluations.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree. Master's Degree Preferred.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years experience required.
  • Experience in military health and fitness programs highly preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate clearly, work well with others, identify and resolve problems, and deliver results as a team.
  • Experience in military health and fitness programs.
  • Knowledge of the Army’s FM 7-22 and the Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate activities to meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development, organizational objectives, office automation.
  • Ability to work completely independently, and use sound judgement in solving problems.
  • Coordinate many complex systems and programs simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and good communications skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver educational course content.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a T1 Public Trust.

Physical Capabilities

  • Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods

Work Environment

  • This position is primarily telework and will require travel.

Compensation

  • The annual salary range for this position is $64,200-$90,000/yr. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.

Salary : $64,200 - $90,000
