HJF is seeking a Postdoctoral Physical Therapist to support the Extremity Trauma and Amputation Center of Excellence (EACE) Research and Surveillance (R&S) Division located at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, NC (WAMC/FB). HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to EACE . The EACE works to advance medical and scientific knowledge through relevant research that will optimize clinical care and quality of life for Service members and Veterans with extremity injuries. We are looking for a new team member to assist with studies aimed at improving musculoskeletal related pain and function in Service members.
The EACE-WAMC/FB Postdoctoral Physical Therapist serves under the supervision of the local EACE-WAMC/FB leadership, who assign areas of responsibility and set defined program objectives, for which the incumbent assumes responsibility for pursuing to completion. The incumbent serves as a point of contact for all administrative activities associated with the EACE-WAMC/FB research program. In addition to practical physical therapy skills, the position requires knowledge of research methods and regulatory requirements. The incumbent is responsible for providing administrative project oversight in order to maximize the effective use of project resources. Specific areas include: rehabilitation interventions, data collection, participant recruitment and retention, study regulatory compliance, and overall research project coordination.

Responsibilities
- Supervises a program of physical therapy activities to improve pain and function in patients with musculoskeletal related pain.
- Assists in designing, developing, executing, and implementing scientific research and/or development.
- Assists with data collection in adherence to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Clinical Practices (GCP) baseline assessment measures.
- Assists with administrative logistics including consenting, data collection, and scheduling.
- Maintains study participant files, documents, and correspondence pertinent to the research study.
- Assists with the development of knowledge dissemination products.
- Communicates in a professional manner with the study team and attends team meetings.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Doctoral degree, PhD is required.
- Physical Therapy degree at the DPT or Master’s level.
- Minimum of 0-5 years experience required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of physical therapy materials and equipment and their appropriate use.
- Advanced knowledge of physical therapy theory, musculoskeletal injury evaluation methods and techniques, professional medical rehabilitation, and therapeutic principles.
- Extensive clinical experience and training with integrating complex medical conditions and designing individualized treatment plans based on documented objective findings from the evaluation process.
- Ability to develop rapport with patients and clinic/hospital/research staff to develop confidence and cooperation. Well-developed clinical, analytical, and problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to understand and utilize scientific/medical terminology and research theory in both oral and written communications.
- The ability to prioritize tasks to meet timelines and deadlines.
- Fastidiously organized, flexible, and able to work under limited supervision either as a member of a team or, where appropriate, independently.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint) are required.
- Advanced computer skills (Project Management Software, Coding, Machine Learning) preferred).
- OCS, SCS, CSCS, and/or TASC is preferred.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.
- Ability to climb, pull, and lift heavy objects.
- Ability to hike over rough terrain and lift/manipulate loads up to 50 pounds are required.
Work Environment
- This position will take place primarily in a clinic setting.
Compensation
- The annual salary range for this position is $50,100-$80,900. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
