Job Summary:
In collaboration with the Senior Director of Perioperative Services, the Perioperative Manager has accountability for the management of the surgery department of the Perioperative Service Line Perioperative Services Leadership role coordinates with the Senior Leadership in development and evaluation of contracts, analysis of perioperative performance data, computer systems applications, data entry functions and software programs. The person in this position coordinates, oversees and participates in the design, implementation, and support of all phases of operations for the surgery department of Perioperative Services. Consistently models excellence in professionalism and service excellence and contributes to unit leadership at a high level of proficiency.
Licensure and Certification:
- Member of applicable Professional organization preferred
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration or a related field required
- Master’s Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration or a related field preferred
Experience:
- Four (4) or more years of hospital experience with progressive experience, with three (3) or more years of business, operations, and/or financial experience.
- 2 years previous supervisory or management experience
Knowledge and Skills:
- State and Federal regulations, including Title 22 and all other regulatory requirements.
- Effective oral and written communication skills;
- Excellent intradepartmental communication skills and interaction with patients and their families; hospital and medical staff;
- Analytical skills.
- Knowledge of supervisory theories, principles, practices, techniques and methods.
- Ability to manage staff and change through collaborative and positive leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members, hospital staff, physicians and patients.
- Demonstrated ability in interpersonal relationships, which enhances communication, promotes conflict resolution, and facilitates staff development.
- Skill and knowledge to sustain and evaluate clinical competence for the specific age and type of patient population served.
- Ability to understand and lead departmental culture change.
