Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Assistant Controller, the Accounting Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the financial records, preparing monthly financial statements, and other required financial reports for all entities related to or affiliated with HMNH; in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and applicable rules and regulations. Provides overall supervision to Accounts Payable staff; including planning work assignments, evaluating work performed, and training.

Licensure and Certification:

• N/A

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration

Experience:

• 3 years of experience in Accounting/Finance with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity
• 2 years hospital experience desired but not required

Knowledge and Skills:

• Advanced knowledge of GAAP and accounting rules specific to nonprofit hospitals
• Advanced knowledge of consolidation and eliminating entry accounting principles.
• Direct or relevant applicable experience in managing and processing accounts payable
• Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Demands - Clerical/Administrative Non-Patient Care:

• Frequent sitting and standing/walking with frequent position change.
• Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and chest level.
• Occasional/intermittent reaching at or above shoulder level.
• Occasional/intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, twisting, and climbing.
• Occasional/intermittent lifting and carrying objects/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Continuous use of near vision, hearing and verbal communication skills in handling telephone calls, interacting with customers and co-workers and performing job duties.
