Compensation Range (Colorado only):

$82,000.00 - $95,000.00

Position Description:

The Data Analyst II’s role is to strategically design and implement BI software and systems, including integration with databases and data warehouses.

This individual is also responsible for assisting in building, deploying, and maintaining data support tools, metadata inventories, and definitions for database file/table creation.

Position Qualifications:

• College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science or statistics, and/or 4 years of equivalent work experience.
• Certifications in BI solutions are a plus.

Knowledge & Experience:

• Demonstrated expertise in extracting valuable business insights from raw data.
• Direct experience with building reports to support business operations and corporate functions.
• Proficiency using Power BI and / or SAP Analytics Cloud to develop interactive dashboards and data visualization.
• Proficiency in using SQL to generate data tables.
• Experience with semantic models development with strong knowledge in DAX, Power Query, Data Flows, Row Level Security, Visualization Best Practices.
• Experience with paginated reports.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric with a vision for production and managed self-service opportunities.
• Experience with mentoring citizen developers and junior team members on best practices.
• Strong understanding of data models, structures, theories, principles, and practices.
• Excellent knowledge of data modeling.
• Strong familiarity with data preparation, processing, classification, and forecasting.
• Working technical experience with relational database servers, including Databricks, Azure Synapse, SQL Server and SAP Datasphere.
• Direct experience with data management techniques.
• Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience.
• Project management experience.
• Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
• Involvement in inter-departmental projects and experience communicating with various stakeholders.

Essential Duties:

• Assess and cultivate long-term strategic goals for BI development in conjunction with end users, managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Assist in the development of data management policies and procedures.
• Identify research questions, problem solve using data analysis, and communicate the results to various stakeholders
• Conduct research and make recommendations on BI products, services, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
• Collaborate with unit managers, end users, development staff, and other stakeholders to integrate data management applications with existing systems. 
• Provide and apply quality assurance best practices for data analysis services across the organization.
• Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to data models.
• Create data definitions for new database file/table development and/or changes to existing ones.
• Determine required network components to ensure data access, as well as data consistency and integrity.
• Develop routines for end users to facilitate best-practice use of data management tools.
• Monitor data management system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
• Responsible for creating/maintaining custom business reports and dashboards
