Compensation Range (Colorado Only)
$55,000 – $75,000

Hensel Phelps paralegals support all aspects of Hensel Phelps operations nationwide by providing legal services for a variety of complex legal, regulatory and administrative tasks. Responsibilities will include support of commercial and personnel related legal matters, matter tracking, document retention and retrieval, federal regulatory compliance, and business licensing. This position will work closely with legal counsel and human resources and will be located at our corporate office.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree
- 2 years of related experience and/or a combination of education and experience.
- Must have a valid Driver License.
- Strong sense of integrity and firm understanding of confidentiality.
- Must be able to prepare complex documents and compose correspondence.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to prioritize tasks when faced with multiple deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook).
Essential Duties:
- Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes.
- Assists with the preparing and drafting of contracts involving leases, licenses, purchases, sales, insurance, employment, and related matters.
- Under the direct supervision of legal counsel, assists with preparing legal documents.
- This includes maintaining a system(s) for draft documents, litigation discovery, legal matter tracking and document management, leave administration, and employee separations. May also record Legal Department meeting minutes and agendas.
- Assists with development of federal, state and local regulatory compliance programs, policies and procedures.
- Administers company licensing and registration program.
- Performs a variety of administrative tasks such as updating form letters, editing documents, copying, filing, scanning, and document management
- Maintains good interpersonal relationships.
- Communicates with a wide variety of individuals and groups, including internal and external lawyers, support staff, district employees, human resources, and corporate executives.
