HR & PAYROLL SPECIALIST

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR & Payroll Specialist or Coordinator to oversee and process payroll activities accurately and on time.
The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Process weekly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Verify and input employee data, including hours worked, deductions, bonuses, and benefits.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Prepare payroll reports and reconcile discrepancies.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, benefits, and procedures.
- Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including data entry, reporting, and correspondence.
- Maintain and update payroll records and systems.
- Onboarding new hires, including data entry, tax withholding elections, benefits enrollment, and general HR inquiries.
- Processing timecards, managing time off requests (vacation, sick leave), and calculating overtime.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience with specific payroll software (ADP, Paycom) is highly valuable
- 1-3 years of experience in payroll processing in Payroll or Human Resources
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
- Experience in a high-volume payroll environment is preferred
- Experience with multi-state payroll is a plus
- Basic understanding of employee benefits (health insurance, retirement plans)
- Assisting with internal and external payroll and HR audits
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with employees, managers, and other departments
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with employees and colleagues
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to employees with payroll and HR inquiries
- Ability to identify and resolve issues effectively
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee information
- Maintain a professional and ethical demeanor
