STRATEGIC PLANNING MANAGER
(1st Shift)
The Strategic Planning Manager will oversee Production Planning and Inventory Management activities within the Milwaukee Liquid organization. The Strategic Planning Manager will plan and prepare production schedules for the manufacture of Finished Goods and Intermediates in the Manufacturing Plant.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Responsible for the planning and scheduling functions in Milwaukee.
- Evaluate production sourcing and make recommendations to optimize manufacturing location with product lines and volumes.
- Lead ERP planning, scheduling initiatives, and improvements.
- Matches production demand, plant capabilities and raw material availability to develop a daily production schedule.
- Communicate with sales and CSD to request accurate customer usage and sales forecast.
- Utilizes sales information and ERP system reports to maintain accurate safety stock and batch size for each SKU.
- Responsible for working with Sales and Production to manage and minimize expired products.
- Work aggressively with Technical to implement rework formulas for distressed materials.
- Coordinate production schedule with third party tollers.
- Responsible for adherence to safety rules by all direct reports, promoting safe work practices, coaching and any necessary safety training required in addition to that provided by the corporate safety trainer. Also is responsible for stopping and reporting any safety violations when observed throughout the facility.
- Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
- Interview, hire and terminate employees, as necessary.
- Conduct performance reviews on a semi-annual basis.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Preferred education level: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university. Degree is preferred to be in a Science related field such as Chemistry, Technology or Engineering.
- Preferred experience level: five plus years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably chemicals or coatings with experience in a batch driven, Make-to-Order, finite lead time production environment.
- Strong knowledge of computer and computer-based material management tools.

- Superb written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook), ERP system and other office machinery.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk and/or hear, stand, and/or walk, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects or controls and move from place to place. The employee is regularly required to sit, balance, stoop, and occasionally reach above shoulders. The employee occasionally must use foot/feet to operate machinery, climb or balance and reach above the shoulders. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 65 lbs.
Personal Protection Equipment is required during various processes in the production area. Safety shoes, glasses, and flame-retardant uniforms are required in the production area. Respirators and ear plugs may be required when performing certain production activities.
